The Philippines is the only country in the World, where the fire departments use the exact same bells on their fire engines as the ice-cream vendors!

The Philippines is the only country in the World, where you can walk into a bakery/coffee shop; buy a whole loaf of sliced bread, present it to the cashier for payment - and then be asked:

"Is it for dine-in or take-out, sir?!!"

The Philippines is the only country in the World, where sales assistants in shopping malls answer you with:

"Yes sir!"

...Even when you didn't ask them a question!

The Philippine people just have the right blend of conservative and liberal things. Opened enough to entertain some degree of democratic changes like that of the West but conservative enough to maintain that Asian identity. I really can't explain it in words. But I know that's the reason why foreigners would want to settle down with a Filipina for life. Of course there's just who want to satisfy their fancies.
