Little Fish and SMB's

Posted by adam, 25 March 2010 · 184 views

Last time i was there the fish were not so little, in fact when i went to the market they was bigger than the cows here ! and looked healthier ( if dead fish can look healthy) .
Great another bloke that does not understand his mobile phone :-) ( noisy shutter action)....I treated my self to a touch screen one a few months ago, i just binned it ! and am going back to a phone that is exactly that , simple. texting leads me baffled at times with the short acronyms used by youngsters these days ! As for the touch screen well if my fingers were not so used to prising the tops of smb's then maybe i would have faired better. But honestly does anyone use all the applications ? MY goodness by the time i have written my schedule the day has passed ! Hmm perhaps that says more about me ? Piss poor planning ! Well here in the UK the rain has started again, the river is looking full and there is a rumour going round that we could have a long hot summer ! Great just like the last 3 they assured us were coming ! So i guess i need to go and check on my staff as i have left them alone for an hour now :-)

Big fresh fish on market stalls in the Philippines! Not to mention crabs, massive lobsters and a vast array of shell fish. Yummy! ...Even better if you can just take your purchase across the road to an open air restaurant where they will cook it for you on-the-spot.

Bring your own wasabi and some decent Japanese soy source for the sashimi, though. The tuna is perfect for that - but my favorite is tangigue. Wrong spelling, I'm sure but the flesh is perfectly white, delightfully sweet and quite slippery when really fresh. Oh... and it also seems to have some quite powerful aphrodisiac properties!! :P
Yo gimme fish to fillet ! :-) I was always worried about the shellfish- have you seen the sewage in the water !! on my last visit i took some friends to the ocean park opposite rizal park, i was a bit disappointed the blurb on the website led me to believe it was as good as anything in usa/europe, i guess it is an ongoing project...So yes we saw some lovely fish and the underground view of Manila Bay was disgusting ! My gosh the pollution is apparently getting better but , given that shellfish are the most likely candidate for sickness, i will abstain..hey dont forget ladies and gentelmen tomorrow is earth saving day ? so for one hour you have to sit in the dark and maybe it s the right time to have some aphrodisiac !! :good:
You really need to go out into the provinces if you want to eat cheap, plentiful and very fresh fish in the Philippines. I certainly wouldn't want to eat anything out of Manila Bay! :shok:

You can get good quality fresh fish in Manila, of course, but it is very expensive as it has to be air-freighted in. Much better to take a short trip out to somewhere nice and enjoy some stunningly beautiful scenery, good food, fresh air, clean beaches and - if you get off the foreign tourist trail - some nice cheap hotels and a wonderfully laid-back pace of life!

Turning the lights off and sitting in the dark? Hmmm... I think I'll just wait for Meralco to turn them off for us. I don't suppose it will be too long before the next batch of so-called "brown-outs" start to hit Manila again...?!
nyc posting, thanx all...
